Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) joined local leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Pleasanton Municipal Airport’s new fuel farm.

The new fuel farm will consist of two 12,000-gallon tanks, a new Jet A fuel tank, and an Avgas fuel tank to provide a better delivery system to local and visiting pilots. The fuel farm will also offer a self-serve system that can be used for helicopters.

The new fuel farm was made possible by $600,000 in federal funds through the Federal Aviation Administration’s State Block Grant Program and the City of Pleasanton’s local match of $380,801. The total project cost is $980,801.

“In Congress, I have always fought to support infrastructure that is vital to the economic growth of South Texas,” said Dr. Cuellar. “Increasing the Pleasanton Municipal Airport’s capacity to service more aircraft will raise the airport’s revenues and consequently provide more economic opportunities for the City of Pleasanton and Atascosa County. I want to thank the Mayor of Pleasanton, Clinton Powell, and the Pleasanton City Council for their leadership to utilize federal funding opportunities that promote growth and economic stability for our community.”
